La Jagua is a currently suspended surface mine operating in the Cesar Department of Colombia. The La Jagua complex is comprised of three small mines: La Jagua, La Yerbabuena and La Victoria. They were all consolidated by Glencore into one big operation after the company acquired La Victoria in 2007. The consolidation of these areas located to the south, west and north-east of the La Jagua syncline, respectively, allowed Glencore to use larger equipments and realise some economies of scale.
