Carahuacra (Volcan) zinc mine
Report summary
Carahuacra, as part of the Yauli mining unit, operates a polymetallic lead-zinc-copper-silver underground mine and the 5kt/d ore Victoria concentrator. The copper, lead and zinc concentrates are exported through the Callao Port in Lima. The Yauli mining unit includes the Andaychagua, San Cristobal, Carahuacra and Ticlio mines and the Andaychagua, Victoria and M. Tunnel concentrators. The Carahuacra (Victoria) concentrator also receives ores from other surrounding polymetallic mines. In 2017, ore fed to the mill was 53% from the San Cristobal mine and the balance from the Carahuacra mine.
