Yunnan Shenhuo aluminium smelter
Report summary
Henan Shenhuo Group built its aluminium smelter in Yunnan, attracted by the availability of hydro electricity. The smelter, which uses SAMI SY 500 technology, was built in two stages. The first line, with 451ktpa production capacity was commissioned in 2020, while the second line, with 449 ktpa will be commissioned in 2021. The smelter started producing unalloyed ingot but is expected to move to the delivery of liquid metal in the future.
