Alaska Upstream: 2018 in review and what to look for in 2019
Report summary
Alaska's upstream sector is emerging from the oil price downturn in a promising state. In 2018, the region elected a new governor, welcomed first production at Greater Mooses Tooth-1 and continued to progress a next wave of projects. Significant discoveries have resulted in operators revisiting exploration in the state. We fully expect the excitement to continue in 2019 after an active winter of appraisal drilling. We are also watching for another active year of Alaska M&A as well as progress on Alaska LNG and ANWR leasing.
