Asset Report
Ordos Basin (Remaining PetroChina)
Report summary
The Ordos Basin, one of PetroChina's largest gas-producing regions in its domestic portfolio, spreads over the Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia provinces. Most reservoirs are tight, characterised by "three lows" - low permeability, low pressure and low production. The low permeability constrained development historically. Since the early 2000s, gas development has accelerated thanks to the geological theories and key technologies developed by PetroChina.
