BP is the main stakeholder in the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), which transports gas from Azerbaijan's giant Shah Deniz field to Turkey's eastern border, via Georgia. The SCP has been operational since 2006 and a major US$4 billion expansion, known as SCPX, completed in the late 2010s to accommodate Shah Deniz Phase Two gas.
