With significant experience analysing the metal markets, Nick’s understanding of the sector’s complexities makes him a valuable member of our research team.
Based in London, Nick re-joined Wood Mackenzie in 2015 to manage the Copper Mine Cost service and has since transitioned to research director in the copper markets team. He has over 15 years of experience as an analyst in the metals and mining sector and has worked across base, bulk and precious metals.
Nick was previously research director at specialist metals consultancy GFMS, playing a key role in developing a mine economics service for gold, copper and PGMs.
Prior to GFMS, Nick spent five years in capital markets as an equity analyst at both Canaccord Genuity and Liberum Capital. He covered a diversified portfolio of mining companies, leading research on London listed large cap companies, but also advising junior mining companies in a corporate broking role. He also has experience as Head of Research at specialist iron ore marketing advisor MVS and started his career as a gold and base metals cost analyst with Brook Hunt (now Wood Mackenzie Metals and Mining).
