Tom Heggarty is a Principal Analyst in Wood Mackenzie’s Energy Transition Practice, where he has led the company's global solar PV market research team since 2017.

In addition to covering solar PV market developments, Tom also contributes to Wood Mackenzie's research on the energy transition, with a particular focus on the evolving corporate landscape of renewable energy and opportunities for oil and gas companies within the sector. He has been quoted extensively in publications such as the Financial Times, Forbes, The Daily Telegraph, PV Magazine and Utility Week.

Tom has worked for Wood Mackenzie since 2011, covering European power and energy markets. Tom graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a first-class degree in mathematics and German; he also spent a year studying at Humboldt University in Berlin.
