Turning Natural Gas and Gas Liquids into Petrochemicals Training

  • Bankers Hall downstairs auditorium
  • Calgary, Canada
After years of evaluation, the province of Alberta is now moving forward to convert natural gas and gas liquids into chemicals and plastics. In 2016, Alberta launched its first Petrochemical Diversification Program (PDP1) which resulted in plans for about $6 billion in new Alberta petrochemical investments in propane-to-polypropylene conversion by Inter Pipeline and by Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation. In 2018, Alberta launched a second round of the program (PDP2) that will offer an additional Can$1 billion in incentives for new petrochemical investments utilizing methane, ethane, propane feedstocks. Applications for eligible projects were submitted in October, and Alberta will award the incentives to the best petrochemical projects very soon. In the near future, Alberta’s natural gas and natural gas liquids producers will have additional significant exposure to the petrochemicals markets. Wood Mackenzie’s 1-day training seminar will provide a comprehensive understanding of the methanol, ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, and polypropylene industries, including interactive analyses of chemistries, technologies, demand, pricing, economics, logistics and key stakeholders. Attendees will leave the seminar with a thorough understanding of the petrochemical industry, as well as a chance to network with subject matter experts and peers in this sector.
