The global onshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M) market is expected to grow to nearly $21 billion USD by 2028. Yet 70% of the O&M spend per installed MW will be on unplanned repair. Capital component and blade repair spend will reach $7 billion USD per annum by 2028. Growth will undoubtedly impact O&M cost and overall OPEX, but to what extent will this impact investment returns, project economics, and LCOE's?
The webinar was presented by Wood Mackenzie's Daniel Liu, Principal Analyst, Power and Renewables. Daniel shed light on key factors facing the industry over the next decade and provide insights from our Wind Technology Systems & Operations service.
Also covered in the webinar was:
- Breakdown of O&M costs spend via value chain
- Unplanned correctives
- Major component repairs
- O&M cost trends in top onshore wind markets
- Digital technology for wind O&M
