The challenge
A mid-sized operator with undeveloped acreage in the Eagle Ford wanted to evaluate its strategic options within the play. The company’s board of directors needed to make a decision on whether they should sell or partner with another operator through a farm-out or acquisition.
Our Solution
Our customer used the North American Well Analysis Tool to identify offset operators in the Eagle Ford and evaluate how type curves for those operators have changed over time. The tool also helped the customer determine that drilling and permitting activity in their area of the play had increased in each of the previous 6 months.
The results
The customer developed a full competitive picture of their acreage and presented different options to management for consideration. Based on the analysis done, the company decided the best solution was to farm out a percentage of its ownership in the acreage to a partner.
