Contango Part II - Contagion

Contango Part II - Contagion

Report summary

2014 has been officially designated as the warmest year on record and December 2014 was the warmest December on record as well. Increasing energy supplies have been offset by slower demand growth and weak winter demand for heating fuels. Inventories are building for many products and the cost of storage is increasing. Providing temporary relief to one product's storage problem has only resulted in the contango virus being spread to other commodities.
