December US ethylene spot prices have averaged just over 20.2 c/lb, similar to November’s spot average of 20 c/lb. New derivative demand from Sasol's PE units and LACC’s EO unit are helping hold up etylene margins this month. Formosa and Indorama's new crackers are expected to be online before the new year. We expect more economic run cuts in 1Q 19 as 3 million tons of new ethylene capacity comes online.
