Vinyls - Vinyls global monthly market overview June 2019
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
US domestic contract PVC prices for the month of May have rolled over. Currently, buyers and sellers are negotiating a 2 cent increase to June prices. While our view is that the current situation does not support the increase yet, we could see a small increase later in the summer. Following last month's news of Braskem's chlor-alkali outage, markets seem to have responded well. USGC exports are supplying caustic soda and EDC to the Brazilian producer, for the most part allowing customers on both sides of the ECU to stay whole. PVC and caustic soda prices have pushed higher in the region, however, on concerns of the limited supply.
