On April 3rd, Wood Mackenzie Chemicals released our first insight in a new weekly series discussing how the Coronavirus pandemic response across end use sectors has affected demand for different polymers. That insight is available here for your review and should be considered essential reading to fully understand this follow-up In this insight, we relate the two modelled demand scenarios and resulting US ethylene production back to the US propylene market, again utilizing our March 2020 outlook as a base case. The objective is to determine how much of an effect the reduced polymer demands and resulting US ethylene production seen in the Setback and Shock scenarios would have on the US propylene market.
