Report summary

Supply continues to be the dominant factor in the near term. While it is unlikely for China to implement blanket production cuts like last year we expect China to use safety inspection to fine tune domestic supply and demand balance. Seaborne supply especially for metallurgical coal is also affected by Cyclone Debbie. We expected near term prices to be supported with FOB QHD 5500 averaging RMB663/t in April.
