Report summary
Baramutiara Prima (BMP) coal mine is located in the Indonesian province of South Sumatra. BMP commenced operations in 2015 and produces low rank coal with a very low-energy content of less than 3,500 kcal/kg (gar). All of its output is supplied to state-owned power generator PLN. BMP is one of Indonesia's lowest cost coal mines owing to its very low strip ratio, but margins are also narrow because of the large price discount for its very low energy product.
