Asset Report
Coal asset report - Ensham (Underground) coal mine - May 2022
Report summary
Ensham (Underground) is located in the southern Bowen Basin. Ensham's surface mine used to be one of Queensland's largest thermal coal exporters, with marketable production in excess of 8 Mtpa in 2005. But output from the surface mine decreased significantly since then because of rising costs associated with a high strip ratio. Ensham (Underground) started production in 2012 and is covered by the ML70365 mining lease. We discuss the Ensham surface mine in a separate asset report.
