Report summary

What could arguably be called the worst year for US coal producers in decades, is coming to a close. Things are improving for coal companies toward the end of the year, with natural gas prices rising and coal deliveries steadily increasing. Many coal firms that had been financially unstable have completed debt reorganizations and have exited bankruptcy or are close to it. Also, there is a current price spike in international markets which has put US coal exports back in-the-money.
