El Hatillo coal mine
Report summary
El Hatillo is a currently suspended mine located in the south-central region of Colombia's Cesar Department. The mine is owned by Colombia Natural Resources (CNR), a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Consolidated Natural Resources (ACNR). The concession area is adjacent to Drummond's Pribbenow mine to the south and east; Drummond's El Descanso mine to the west; and Prodeco's Calenturitas and CNR's La Francia mines to the north. The mine is approximately 210 kilometers southeast of the Santa Marta port and covers an area of 9,693 hectares.
