North America thermal coal no carbon long-term outlook H2 2015

Report summary

On August 3, 2015 the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released two landmark carbon regulations affecting the US power sector—The Clean Power Plan (CPP) and New Source Performance Standards (NSPS). Each regulation poses very different implications to coal, gas, and power markets with the former posing a more material impact.  In this sensitivity, we examine the underlying fundamentals of North American power, gas, and coal markets absent the inclusion of CPP in our Base Case.
