Sev.en Energy is a privately owned power generation, commodity trading, power engineering and coal mining company based in the Czech Republic. Blackhawk Mining, which Sev.en Energy acquired in June 2020, became a new entrant into Appalachia in 2012 with its Pine Branch purchase and grew rapidly in 2014-2015 after purchasing assets from James River, Patriot, Arch and Rhino coal companies. The company operates surface and underground thermal and metallurgical mines in Central Appalachia.
