Shaanxi coal mines

Report summary

Shaanxi province covers 205,800 square kilometres and is located approximately 750 kilometres from China's east coast. Shaanxi is the third-largest coal-producing province in China. We expect Shaanxi to account for approximately 15% of the country's total production in 2017. Shaanxi is also a major coal supplier to other provinces in China with net coal outflows of more than 250 Mtpa. Shaanxi is one of the few provinces where we expect new projects will be developed over the long term as demand continues to rise.
