Ignoring President Trump's advice, the TVA Board voted to close two aging coal plants. Citing economics, and not a "war on coal", TVA will close Paradise Unit 3 (on a 5 - 2 vote) and the Bull Run power plant (on a 7 - 0 vote). The closures are further evidence of accelerating coal plant closures in the US. They highlight the uphill battle the President faces in his attempt to reinvigorate the coal industry.
