US Production Update Q4 2012
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
US coal production fell again in the final quarter of 2012 as weak markets continued to pressure US miners. Total output was 249.2 million short tons in Q4 2012, retreating from the country's 258.9 million short ton level in Q3 2012, which was a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 3.7%. Most US coal mining regions recorded production declines in Q4; however Northern Appalachia grew by almost 11% from the strength of that region's underground thermal mines.
