Vietmindo coal mine

Report summary

The Vietmindo coal mine is a surface mine located 17 kilometres north of the town of Uong Bi in Quang Ninh province. The Vietmindo mine consists of two mining areas, Dong Vong and Uong Thong and covers an area of 13 square kilometres. Vietmindo Energitama (Vietmindo) was the first foreign company to explore and mine Vietnamese coal.
