A shift to net gas importer: Denmark energy markets long-term outlook 2017
Denmark is a highly developed economy with some of the highest living standards in the world. Danish energy policy is oriented towards supplying all its energy demand, including transportation, using renewable energy by 2050. Wind-power is expected to supply nearly half of the country's electricity consumption by 2020. It was recently announced that the Tyra field, Denmark's largest gas field, would cease in October 2018, meaning Denmark will become a net importer of gas from 2018.
