Germany energy markets long-term outlook H2 2016

Report summary

Germany is one of the largest energy consumers in Europe, reflecting the size of its economy and manufacturing's significant contribution to GDP. Over the last decade the relationship between GDP growth and total energy demand has weakened. Between 2000 and 2015, economic growth averaged 1.1% per annum while total primary energy demand decreased . Through the forecast, Wood Mackenzie expects this negative relationship between GDP and energy demand growth to be maintained.
