India energy month in brief - Evaluating the new gas pricing policy

Report summary

In our every month-in-brief, we explore the latest developments and themes happening across India's upstream, downstream, gas, coal and power sectors. In March, the government approved a new gas pricing regime and marketing freedom for deepwater and high pressure/high temperature fields. We give our views on the significance of this policy to India's gas market development. On the back of the policy announcement, ONGC also sanctioned its investment on its flagship deepwater project in KG basin.
