Report summary

The first LNG terminal in the Baltic region, Independence, is starting operation in Lithuania. An expansion of the existing transmission network will also allow Lithuania to re-export gas to Latvia and Estonia post 2016. Access to cheaper gas prices will double gas-fired generation in Lithuania by 2035 and drive most of the upside potential for industrial demand.
