Report summary

Mexican oil production has decreased 10% since the energy reform was approved. Oil production in 2015 is 2.28 mmbbl/d compared to 2.56 mmbbl/d in December 2013. Additional production from the new rounds could start as soon as 2016, reversing the decline trend. Mexico will use less oil as a result of the recent reform. The country will remain a net net oil exporter as residential, industrial and power sector will accelerate their conversion to natural gas.
