Commodity Market Report
Poland energy markets long-term outlook 2019
Report summary
Poland has Europe's second biggest coal industry. As the European Commission pushes for an energy transition to a low carbon economy, the country will remain one of Europe's most carbon-intensive countries. It is also under scrutiny from EU bodies around the liberalisation of its domestic oil and gas markets. Despite this, the move to a more competitive, less carbon-intensive system will happen, financed in part by European institutions. This report addresses the Polish energy transition, and reflects on its pace as well as the the main risks faced. In the 'Downloads' section of this page, you can find the explanatory slides and Excel dataset.
