Report summary

Losses from the electricity system are 32% of total electricity demand more than Italy's total power demand (2014). Efficiency and network improvements offer significant energy saving opportunities for Russia. Russia power output from coal fired and hydro capacity in the eastern regions is expected to increase drastically in the mid to long term in order to meet export commitments to China.
