Report summary

While Saudi Arabia's economy remains dependent on oil revenues the government has outlined a strategy to boost and diversify the economy away from oil and support social reforms. Oil and gas remain the key fuels in meeting increasing energy demand driven by population growth energy intensive industries and supported by subsidised prices. Alternative energy growth could however pick up strongly in the next decade.
