Global gas market long-term outlook H1 2019: Latin America and the Caribbean
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Natural gas supply and demand balances are changing across Latin America and the Caribbean, with unique drivers influencing each market. Most of the Caribbean countries lack indigenous gas reserves, turning to LNG imports to supply their gas-fired generation plants such as Panama, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. In Mexico, major pipeline completions have already begun to ease market pressure. In South America, Argentina's Vaca Muerta continue displacing LNG imports both in Argentina and Chile. However, LNG imports will increase in countries such as Brazil and Colombia backing power systems that rely heavily on hydro.
