Indonesia gas markets: 2018 long-term regional outlook
Indonesia's gas market will continue to expand to support the growing economy. Despite the recent fall in demand seen in 2017, we expect the country's gas demand to increase by 1,980 mmcfd from 2018, reaching 5,300 mmcfd in 2035. Given declining domestic production longer-term, by 2035, we expect around 60% of the country's gas demand to be met by LNG. The growing share of LNG offers new opportunities in both LNG procurement and regas infrastructure projects, although there are challenges unique to the Indonesian market.
