Italy gas markets long-term outlook H2 2014

Italy gas markets long-term outlook H2 2014

Report summary

Algerian imports have continued to reduce in 2014, a consequence contract renegotiations with Sonatrach. This has enabled Eni to make up some Russian gas it has paid for but not taken. Algerian imports should resume to pre renegotiation level in 2015. However, ongoing feedgas issues mean that this is unlikely. Reduced Algerian imports might continue to suit Italian utilities as they recover make up gas from other suppliers and maintain PSV at a premium.
