Commodity Market Report
LNG short-term trade and price outlook (Q1 2019)
Report summary
As the winter ends and European and Asian LNG prices continue to fall, concerns are mounting about just how low prices could go in the summer. Storage levels in Europe are at a record high. Asian LNG demand has remained subdued this winter and will reduce further as the heating season comes to an end. Another 31 Mt of new LNG capacity is still due to start up this year. How unbalanced will the global LNG market be? Could summer LNG prices fall far enough to curtail US LNG production? What will Russia do?
