Malaysia LNG long-term outlook H2 2020
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Malaysia LNG demand remained robust during the pandemic, with only a slight decline of 3%. Most LNG imports were sourced from Brunei and Australia. PETRONAS may have maximised its LNG portfolio during the weak LNG market in 2020, by pushing more LNG into the domestic market at the expense of piped supply. In the mid- to long-term, we expect LNG demand to continue to grow as pipeline supply continues to decline. The gas market has been liberalised, but progress has been slow since the first non-PETRONAS cargo entered the market in 2019.
