North America gas markets short-term outlook November 2015

North America gas markets short-term outlook November 2015

Report summary

High storage inventories and low seasonal demand have led Henry Hub spot prices to trade just above $2/mmbtu, for now, even with cold weather on the 15-day horizon as Northeast wells await pipelines and local demand, and El-Nino weather projections signal continued mild weather. That said, supply-demand balances are tightening and once the weather turns colder and heating loads ramp up, the combination of continued strong power demand and a muted uptick in L48 production should boost prices for the balance of winter well above the current NYMEX strip.
