North America gas weekly update: Cooler July?
Report summary
After a blistering June, peak summer weather in July so far has cooled down. The West remains very hot with added threats from wildfires and continued low hydro levels but the South remains relatively cooler. But it’s not just lower peak summer temperatures that are cooling Henry Hub gas prices. Despite power demand continuing to outperform, US gas production is recovering and seasonal LNG maintenance is resurfacing. Will gas storage injections start to normalize higher after its recent tightness?
