Polish gas demand in the power sector is set to increase two-fold during 2020-25. Poland's gas market remains dominated by PGNiG, which is investing in LNG imports expansion and better recovery rates from maturing conventional gas fields, mainly in the north of the country. LNG imports and Baltic pipeline construction in early 2020s give weight to Poland’s announcement at the end of 2019 to stop Russian gas imports (Yamal contract) after 2022.
