This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
We have seen the completion of construction of the biggest solar power plant in Southeast Asia. The USD 210 million 132 MW facility, located in the Philippines, is scheduled to start operations in March 2016. Despite growing renewable power in the Philippines, we expect the percentage of renewables capacity in the overall capacity mix to be almost flat at 30% through the forecast. There was further M&A activity in the Malaysian power sector with Mitsui selling 50% of its shares in the upcoming 2 GW coal-fired Jimah East power plant to Chugoku Electric.
