Southern Cone gas and power short term outlook: September 2020
Report summary
Activity in Brazil’s already competitive gas market was high in September. First, after three years of negotiations, Petrobras and its pre-salt partners in the Santos basin signed contracts for sharing the natural gas gathering pipeline system (SIE) and processing. Second, Petrobras continues making progress in the leasing of TRBA LNG regas terminal in Bahia. And, lastly, local distribution gas companies in Brazil’s Northeast have issued a public procurement exercise to contract new gas volumes for the next few years.
