In February 2019, PTTEP signed new contracts to take over the Erawan and Bongkot gas fields after their existing concessions expire, locking in gas supplies for Thailand in the medium term. The future of Thailand's gas market will depend on PTTEP's ability to maintain production at these blocks and the potential to mobilise volumes in the Overlapping Claims Area. Maintaining piped gas imports is critical to keep gas prices low. This report presents Wood Mackenzie's view of Thailand's gas market including our latest supply-demand balance, contracts, infrastructure, market structure and policy.
