Vietnam gas and LNG - 2016 long term regional outlook

Vietnam gas and LNG - 2016 long term regional outlook

Report summary

Progress has been made recently in developing domestic gas production. In North Vietnam, the Thai Binh gas project produced first gas on 7 August 2015. In Southeast Vietnam, the first phase of the Nam Con Son 2 pipeline was completed in December 2015, transporting gas from the Dai Hung field. In Southwest Vietnam, PetroVietnam started construction on Block B&52 in December 2015. However, the incremental production is insufficient to offset the decline from existing blocks, particularly from the Lan Tay and Lan Do fields in South Vietnam.
