Argentina LNG long-term outlook 2016

Report summary

Argentina will continue importing LNG through the early-2020s as the country's vast reserves of unconventional gas remain largely undeveloped. However, new policies put in place by the recently-elected administration support the development of the domestic gas industry in the long-term. By the mid-2020s, we expect that LNG imports will be displaced by indigenous production and increased piped imports from Bolivia.
