Report summaryThe proposed Arrow LNG project intends to develop Coal Seam Gas resources from the Bowen and Surat basins to feed an LNG export facility located on Curtis Island off Gladstone, Queensland. The project's initial proposal is a two-train, 8 mmtpa facility, owned and operated by Arrow Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between Shell and PetroChina. However, during 2013 it became evident that due to the overheated contracting climate in eastern Australia, plans for a greenfield LNG development were shelved.
