Since 2009, several significant gas fields have been discovered by Noble Energy and its partners in the Sinai-Levant basin, offshore Israel and Cyprus. In Cyprus, the Aphrodite gas field was discovered in December 2011.In October 2013, Noble Energy completed its first appraisal well on Aphrodite and lowered its estimate of reserves to 3.6-6 tcf of gas, with a mean of 5 tcf.
