Report summary

With no indigenous supply and no possibility of piped imports, the Dominican Republic is entirely dependent upon LNG to satisfy its gas demand. The country received its first LNG imports in 2003 to the Andres regas terminal. The gas market is still in its infancy, with supplies limited to fuelling two power plants in the south of the country and a nascent natural gas vehicle programme.
